Lufthansa Technik Turbine Shannon to use IBS cloud based MRO solution

Trivandrum, February 12, 2014: Lufthansa Technik Turbine Shannon (LTTS), part of the USD 6 billion Lufthansa Technik (LHT) Group has successfully implemented the IBS iFlight MRO cloud-based solution for managing its maintenance operations. Lufthansa Technik is the leading independent provider of maintenance, repair, overhaul and modification services for civil aircraft and engines worldwide. The fully web-based, mobile-enabled new generation software offered through cloud, replaces the 18-year-old legacy system that was used by LTTS. IBS iFlight MRO will provide LTTS with end-to-end visibility on maintenance operations and a fully-integrated platform that will help scale up their operations, improve operational efficiency, reduce turn-around time and enhance the decision making process. The software facilitates industry best practices and supports lean production methods and tightly organized innovative repair processes. These in turn will help LTTS improve its turn-around time.
With this implementation, IBS’ iFlight MRO solution has become the backbone ERP solution for LTTS, supporting the entire business operations including production planning, material forecasting, inventory management, supply chain, repair order execution, invoicing and collections and management reporting. The solution will be used by the entire staff of LTTS, right from the CEO, through the managerial staff to the shop floor mechanics. The system has the capability to interface with other devices (such as automated vending machines for parts issue) to ensure the highest levels of automation along the entire inventory supply chain.
Speaking on this momentous occasion, Dr. Ralph Petersen, Managing Director and CEO of LTTS has noted “LTTS selected iFlight MRO as we were confident that it would meet the high quality and demands we needed to run our business. I am pleased to say that our expectations in iFlight MRO were well met and LTTS is looking forward to working with iFlight MRO system over the coming years.”
Speaking on behalf of IBS, Sankalp Saxena, President & Head of Aviation Operations Services acknowledges, “We are delighted that LTTS has chosen the IBS iFlight system as the core ERP system for supporting their operations and business process improvements – a true endorsement of our commitment to the product and our delivery track record. Our collaborative efforts and engagement have once again delivered transformational business value to one of Industry’s most respected MRO organization and we are proud of this partnership”bsp;
