This helps them predict what travellers want, often before they even book.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/indianaviationnews.net\/decisionheight\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/1779558260946.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-208\" src=\"https:\/\/indianaviationnews.net\/decisionheight\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/1779558260946.jpg\" alt=\"aviation data\" width=\"826\" height=\"786\" srcset=\"https:\/\/indianaviationnews.net\/decisionheight\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/1779558260946.jpg 800w, https:\/\/indianaviationnews.net\/decisionheight\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/1779558260946-300x285.jpg 300w, https:\/\/indianaviationnews.net\/decisionheight\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/1779558260946-768x731.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 826px) 100vw, 826px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Today, airline data analytics is helping airlines:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0predict travel demand<\/li>\n<li>adjust ticket prices in real time<\/li>\n<li>personalise offers and rewards<\/li>\n<li>plan smarter flight routes<\/li>\n<li>improve the customer experience<\/li>\n<li>increase revenue from seats, bags, lounges, and upgrades<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>According to a recent Boston Consulting Group (BCG) aviation industry analysis, airlines using advanced AI and customer personalisation are improving both profitability and passenger satisfaction.<\/p>\n<p>That is changing the aviation industry fast.<\/p>\n<p>Loyalty programmes are also becoming smarter. Instead of simply handing out points, airlines now use AI-powered systems to send personalised offers at the right time, based on each customer\u2019s travel habits and preferences.<\/p>\n<p>The Gulf region is moving quickly too. IATA has recently highlighted the GCC\u2019s unified aviation strategy as a major step towards better regional co-ordination and smarter use of aviation data. This could help Gulf airlines improve route planning, demand forecasting, and travel efficiency across business and tourism markets.<\/p>\n<p>But there are challenges.<\/p>\n<p>Airlines still need to protect customer privacy, maintain fair pricing, build trusted data systems, and ensure technology enhances the human experience rather than replacing it.<\/p>\n<p>The future of aviation may not be defined only by better aircraft or bigger airports, but by how intelligently airlines use data to understand their passengers.<\/p>\n<p>That shift is already happening.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h6><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><em>John Verghese is a Senior Editor with Gulf Times, Doha, Qatar.
