Former airline staffer held for fraud
New Delhi: A 31-year-old man, who worked as a cabin crew earlier, was arrested for trying to dupe people on the pretext of job openings in an airline.
Accused Sanket Jha, who hailed from Maharashtra, posted a message informing job aspirants about the launch of ‘Yo Airlines’ in Thailand. He asked interested candidates to send their applications for the job of cabin crew.
Police said that Jha posted an advertisement on Instagram about the vacancies. He had also posted a link asking the candidates to fill in their details and apply. On Wednesday, he called candidates for an interview at a hotel near Bangla Sahib Gurudwara. Jha was a BCom graduate and worked as a cabin crew with an airline for four years.
Officers said that around 300 candidates appeared for the interview, during which Jha asked them to deposit around Rs 2.5 lakh for confirmation of job. One of the women candidates then became suspicious and called police.
