New aeronautics course at Gauhati University

Guwahati: Incorporating ‘aeronautics’ as a subject in its graduation programme, Gauhati University (GU) has cheered students aspiring to study, and make a career in, aviation maintenance engineering.
Further, the university has deputed College of Aeronautical Engineering (CAE) situated in Borjhar in the city to run the course at the degree-level.Admission to the course and regular classes will start from this academic session itself.
“The syllabus in the subject has been prepared by taking aircraft maintenance engineering as the foundation. It is indeed a great achievement for College of Aeronautical Engineering to include such a unique technical course in the curriculum of one of the prestigious and leading universities of India. This is another milestone for us,” said a statement issued by CAE.
The aeronautics syllabus was scrutinised on various levels and finally approved by the GU’s academic council.
