Nagpur flying club may shift flying to Amravati

Nagpur: The Nagpur flying club (NFC) may shift its flying activities out of Nagpur to Amravati airport. The directorate general of civil aviation (DGCA) has already been moved to seek the permission required for this shift. The DGCA nod is expected to come within next few months.
“We have taken this step in order to facilitate easy, quick and more flying,” said NFC in charge MAH Khan. Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport, Nagpur has become busier and thus it has restricted the amount of time available to the NFC for giving flying lessons to its trainee pilots. At least 36 commercial flights fly in and out of the Nagpur airport daily.
Though this number might not be very big as compared to other international airport, it is increasing and does affect the schedule of the flying club and their opportunities to take out their aircrafts for training purpose.
