‘Stop work near Jakkur Flying School’

Bangalore: The former Minister Gulihatti D. Shekhar has said that work on the elevated highway on Bellary Road in front of Jakkur Flying School should be stopped immediately to facilitate normal functioning of the flying school. He told presspersons that in 2009 and 2010, authorities of the flying school had objected to the building of the elevated highway there, and had suggested construction of a underpass instead.Mr. Gulihatti Shekhar said that the flying school has trained many pilots who are now employed well in India and abroad. Shifting the flying school is not a solution to the present problem.

I live very close to this runway at jakkur. Its a tough task for pilots to land and take off because of this bridge. Standing on the bridge you would realise that the aeroplane is at an arms stretch when its landing.
