Pune: In what could be a big hurdle for University of Pune’s (UoP) newly launched MTech (Aviation) course, most of the registered candidates from the first batch of 20 have failed to pay the first installment of fees even as the deadline ended on October 26.
Speaking to Newsline, S I Patil, Head, Department of Technology, UoP, said the varsity was forced to extend the deadline to November 20 as candidates could not meet the earlier deadline.
The varsity, through a notice issued on October 8, had stated that admissions to M.Tech Aviation course would stand cancelled if the fees is not paid before October 26. Candidates selected for the course need to pay Indian rupees equivalent to 5,000 (Euros) to UoP on getting admission, and 70,000 (Euros) to Germany-based flying institute Fachschule fur Luftfahrzeugfuhrer (FFL), said the notice. The amount in Indian currency calculates to be nearly Rs four lakh and Rs 59 lakh, respectively.
