Move on to revive Assam Flying Club
Guwahati: A meeting organized by the College of Aeronautical Engineering, Borjhar, at the Circuit House today expressed concern over the non-functional status of Assam Flying Club in Guwahati since the past two decades, and resolved to move Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi for initiating appropriate steps to make the club fully functional with immediate effect.
The meet was attended, among others, by veteran journalist DN Bezboruah, Captain Robin Bordoloi, Dr J Balaji, DC, Kamrup; adventurer Pranay Bordoloi, Capt KKK Singh, Bikrom Singha Lahkar, Captain Shoba Mani and Nitu Lahkar.
The meeting decided to form the Assam Flying Club Revival Committee under the presidentship of Captain Robin Bordoloi. Bikrom Singha Lahkar from the College of Aeronautical Engineering, will be the general secretary of the committee.
The meeting also requested the State Government to make a fully functional managing committee of the club, including aviation experts and people related to aviation and Assam Flying Club, in the new managing committee.

Its a very good news for the aviation industry.
Almost 80% of state flying training intitutes are in the same condition,resulting private flying training academies has come up, and they are more interested in making money rather than improving quality in civil aviation.
