Jet Airways plans to launch aviation academy
Mumbai: Private carrier Jet Airways plans to set up a marketing services firm and launch an aviation training academy, with a total investment of Rs one crore.
The proposal is, however, subjected to regulatory approvals, including those from the Foreign Investment Promotion Board and the Reserve Bank of India, Jet Airways said in a notice to its share holders ahead of the company annual general meeting scheduled early next month.
The Naresh Goyal-owned airline would be the second domestic carrier to foray into the aviation education segment after Kingfisher started a similar training institution in 2007.

All my pilot enthusiast/aspirant out there don’t get fool by news like these. These industry have reached the dead end. I mean the job opportunity is scarce now. My advise to pilot aspirant is-go for indian airforce selection. Dont get lured by airline salary figure. Get trained in Airforce, work for some years, your job at airline is waiting for you. otherwise you’ll end up like me wasting time and money for nothing, take it from me or else you’ll regret it later at your life.
yes i totally agree with the above said comment…….evn m one of ’em who has spent a lot of money and time in doing my CPL.with no job opportunities left for me ahead…..so dont waste ur time in commercial side of aviation…..u’ll end up with nothing atlast..if ur only dream is to fly try in INDIAN AIRFORCE or else give a break and do something else to get ur life settled till there is a heavy boom in this industry…!!
I am not totally agree with the above said comment but i am satified with some points like pilots can try to fly in INDIAN AIRFORCE but in this sector pacakage is too low in comparision to CPL(pilot)…..Aviation sector is a boom industry in all over the world in this pilots have to risponcibility for passengers alot….this sector have so many glamorous and risponsibility too…so whatever plans make by jet airwaz its good for those students who are intrested in aviation industry…and i am sure that in this aviators can be bright future…
I do agree with the above comments. There are no job opportunities for the common man. If you have your father or any other near relative already in this profession, then, you can think of this line of profession. If not convinced by my words, here is a piece of suggestion for those gyus. Seek an RTI information from the DGCA how many pilots have been recruited in different airlines during the last five years and what the profession of their parents/ guardians, leave aside the close relatives. Truth will automatically emerge out.
My friend if you are not a son of Air Force senior Capt then don’t even dream about air force. Rest are called civilians and treated like crap. if you make through first step of selection, they will get rid of you at interview stage. And now please don’t blame your father for not being air force officer.
