Aviation University off to Amethi?

The proposed Aviation University, planned at the Begumpet Airport, by the Andhra Pradesh government, has been hijacked by the Congress general gecretary Rahul Gandhi

Rahul is the MP from Amethi. And the Varsity may be gifted to his constituency. The news has now reached the AP State Secretariat and the all-knowing babus for once are flummoxed — Who will call the king naked, as one bureaucrat puts it.
The government has been working on it since the YSR regime. Some babus have reportedly given commitments to private parties in this regard, it is learnt.
The State government has spent crores for maintaining of the premises where the University was supposed to come up. There are reports that the University would now be set up in Fursatgunj in Amethi, UP.
The proposal from Hyderabad was not refused but, the State government has dropped hints that the varsity at the Begumpet airport may not be come a reality. Already some staff members are at the premises of Hyderabad’s old Begumpet airport along with the security staff for the upkeep of the premises. Some ground staff at the old airport told Postnoon that they were not aware of any proposals of the University. All they know is that the prime minister, president and other VIPs land here and take off.
