Aviation company told to refund fee

Chandigarh: He had big dreams of joining a leading airline after completing cabin crew course and also paid a hefty fee to a Mumbai-based aviation company. But all dreams were shattered after he was left in lurch following the completion of the course.

However, he approached the consumer forum and the accused company has been directed to refund part of his fees amount. Besides, a fine has also been imposed on the company.
“I had taken admission in a one-year diploma course of Professional Cabin Crew Service (DPCC) at Avalon Aviation Academy in 2008 and paid the total fees of Rs 1,10,225. The academy gave me a placement guarantee and said in failure to do so they would refund 50% of the fee, but the company could not get me placed as cabin crew,” said Mohammad Anwar Malik, a resident of Sector 46.
