Another year on rolls for expat pilots
New Delhi: In a major reprieve to airlines, the government has allowed them to continue having foreign pilots on their rolls for one more year.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation had earlier mandated airlines to phase out expats by July 31, 2010.
Industry insiders, however, want the ministry to see whether airlines are actually focusing on career progression of desi pilots.
