Jagadish Air Travels Institute launches twinning programme
Bangalore: Bangalore-based Jagadish Air Travels Institute has launched a three-year twining programme called ‘Confederation of Tourism Hotel and Catering Management’ (CTHCM). A one-year diploma course, it offers students the option of converting the course into a degree by studying for two years at any of the four universities in London – Thames Valley University, Middlesex University, University of Birmingham and London South Bank University. The course fee will be Rs 50,000 per year and students who have completed their pre-university studies will be eligible for the course. Some of the key modules of the course will be tourism economics, handing travel agency and tour guiding operations, finance and marketing, destination analysis and niche interest tourism. Also, the Institute will soon introduce a ‘Virgin Atlantic’ course in association with the airline, which will be a one-year International Air Transport Association (IATA) recognised course. The course will have two levels and will cost Rs 30,000.
It is also planning to get IATA accreditation by September, 2008 and accordingly, is setting-up practical training laboratories and meeting rooms and is purchasing equipment like projectors. As of now, it offers a diploma in Air Travel and Tourism Management, certificate courses in Practical Training, Air Travel and Tourism and Computerised Reservation System and crash courses in airport and cargo operations.
