About Aviation India

Aviation India is a blog run by a small group of Indian aviation journalists and researchers.
It was created to serve just one simple purpose:
Keep track of all (well, almost all) the happenings in Indian civil aviation scene which is undergoing tremendous changes much too fast.
Having taken upon the task, we soon realized the most practical approach was to collect all available news reports and keep them in an arranged manner in the Internet itself to facilitate quick and easy recovery by all of us, irrespective of our geographical location.
And then we decided to do this arranging & archiving just like it was done in traditional news libraries of Dailies. (Because that was the model we were most comfortable with!).
So here also news reports (or clippings, to use the media cliche) from various publications are collected, sorted, cataloged and kept ready - For quick and ready reference.
So every day, the blog scans hundreds of Internet news sites and collects all reports that are related to Indian aviation scenario.
The reports gathered thus are then sorted in to different categories and then posted in the blog. Only a few paragraphs or a gist of the stories are reproduced, though. To read the full story (and we encourage to do so), the readers can always go to the original news site, a link to which (" To read the news in full ") is placed at the bottom of each story. The name of the site (from where the report was collected), the reporter's byline (if any), the name of the news agency (if it was an agency story) too are always given with the date of publication at the end of posts. This much info is given in a different color, to ensure easy detection.

How to use Aviation India

The blog is updated daily (any time between 11.30 AM and 4.30 PM, IST) and you can see the days posts in the home page itself. Previous days' stories can be brought up by clicking the "older" link at the bottom of the page. The day's posts are arranged in no particular order. But they are simultaneously sorted in to various categories.
The news menu links in the sidebar lead to the pages where the story links of each category are kept in descending order (Newest stories first).

The DGCA rules & regulations for aviation training/exams in India too can be read from this section of Aviation India.
