Saab looks to increased partnerships in India

Saab is looking to increase its partnerships in India as it moves to introduce modern C4I capabilities into the country’s defence market.
Michael Sahlberg, marketing director for Saab India Technologies, told Shephard at the Aero India exhibition that the company was looking to help India develop the open architectures that will allow companies to build indigenous content on top of.
‘In the C4I category India has gone for an India-fronted approach, and therefore partnerships are important,’ he explained. ‘We at Saab don’t need partnerships but it’s good that India wants to develop its own technology. In the long run if these Indian entities perform then international markets will open.’
