Grand finale awaits Aero-India

Bangalore: Russian Knights and Flying Bulls aerobatic teams will conquer the Aero-India skies at Yelahanka for the last time on Sunday.
The desi Sarang helicopters will soar yet again, and the gigantic C-17 Globemaster will take off for that final hurray, as curtains are all set to be drawn on the biggest airshow in this part of the world. But beware Bangaloreans: Be prepared for a turnout of over 60,000 visitors, traffic chaos and a Mayawati rally on Palace Grounds en route.
Saturday witnessed a packed airshow, as the business delegates retreated and the public took over in huge numbers. Sunday’s holiday crowd will be even bigger, challenging every nerve of the 600-plus traffic policemen specially posted to coordinate the traffic. Tickets priced at Rs 400 and Rs 500 may be available. Already, 50,000 tickets have been sold. But the exhibition halls are likely to be too crammed for comfort.
