Airbus pushing aggressively for more contracts

Big players want to cash in at the Aero India 2013 as the weekend saw huge turnout at the Yelahanka Air Force Station in Bangalore on Saturday. Leading the pack is Airbus which wants to sell its C295 military transport aircraft to India. The C-295 is a twin-engined Spanish-built tactical transport aircraft designed to carry 71 people or nine tonnes of cargo. Airbus is also optimistic about finalising a contract to sell Airbus aerial refueling tankers that allow fighter jets to be in sky for longer duration. Last month it had beaten a stiff competition from Russia to supply six A330 aerial refueling tankers to India worth $1.25 billion.
